This is my first entry in the Bloggers Quilt Festival - which Amy has organised again this autumn.
I am entering the Authentic Quilt I made for my brother's 30th birthday in July this year.
I followed Dana from Old Red Barns Quilt Along several months after it was finished. This is the first big quilt I have made and I learnt so much quilting it particuarly how much easier it is to quilt if you have basted well.

What a crisp modern quilt. I'll bet your brother did get it after all. Congrats on such great quilt- esp. for your first large one.
ReplyDeleteCome see my 1890 antique schoolhouse quilt and
black/white/pink scrappy miniature
A fun quilt indeed and your brother's response sounds like something a guy would say! Your choice of blocks for the fabric is great.
ReplyDeleteA lovely quilt, it's fabulous in Authentic. Love your brother's comment.
ReplyDeleteI hope your brother cherishes it! I love that fabric line too.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on this same quilt along right now as well, and mine is similar to yours as I'm doing it mostly in black & white with one strip of pink in each block. It's nice to see how yours turned out!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely fabric and it works so well in this quilt design.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks great.
Good quilt for a man, and gotta love the comment!
ReplyDeleteOh my, upon reflection I can see why he says it looks like newsprint!!! Awesome and he probably calls it "Newspaper"...lol. The fabric is so great for the railfence pattern. Great quilt and I think it should be called Newsprint...lol after your brother. lol..
