Craft Class

I went to a Christmas Craft Class tonight at my favourite fabric shop Millie Moon.  It's where I have booked to do a 6 week patchwork course which starts in January.  We made 2 projects, fabric bags and hearts.  I have got lots of ideas for Christmas presents now.  The bags were really easy to make and could be adapted to any size.  The hearts were a little trickier especially trying to get the ric rac to show around the edge.

I bought some lovely Christmas fabric to make some bags and hearts from - pictures tomorrow.

Pincushion

After getting tired of tipping my pins out of a jar (all over the floor) for the tenth time I finally had a go at making a pin cushion.  This one again comes from Quilting in No Time by Emma Hardy and uses some of the left over fabric from my first quilt and was really quick and easy to make.

Sunday's Sewing

Well this is what my Amy Butler fabrics became. At the moment it is my favourite thing I've made (so far anyway!). I am really pleased with the way it turned out. The pattern is from the book "Quilting in No Time" by Emma Hardy. I think I am a little slower than whoever the book is aimed at though. The time estimate was 2 hours and I estimate this took me 6 hours! I did customise it a little by making the straps longer so they could go over my shoulder and by adding a pocket for my rather large mobile. I think something similar to this may be making an appearance as a Christmas present for several people soon.
